Stress relief with massage therapy? While the practice of therapeutic massage has been used for centuries in the east, it is a relatively recent phenomenon here in the west. While the wonders of modern medicine have left many in awe, increasingly people are considering complimentary therapies and non-invasive treatments to aid in their stress relief. Massage therapy has never been as popular as it is today in North America.
Life has become a constant rush! Always on the go with little to no down time for recovery. Add in some kids, pets and endless recreational activities and it seems like there aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done. Then the worry, stress, and frustration creep in trying to juggle everything. You are burning the candle at both ends or spreading yourself too thin that you ultimately have exhausted yourself!! Now What? well its time for some stress reduction!!!
Massage therapy is a wonderful and relaxing treatment to indulge in. The body loves touch based therapies. There are numerous reasons to seek out massage. It can help both muscularly or mentally. Imagine an hour where you can drift into a sleep because you are at peace and your aches and pains are worked away or maybe you open up to your therapist and off load some of the built-up anxiety you have been storing, giving your mind the clarity it has longed for. Whatever the purpose is for seeking massage, rest assured that you will leave your massage treatment with less stress, a calm mind, and a rested body.
Now the trick is to keep that feeling continuous by not allowing life to drain you mentally or physically. Try and incorporate stress reducing activities into your life regularly, such as, exercising, massage therapy (and other health treatments), reading, watching a movie, getting out with friends and family, or even a day of nothing where you can relax and go at your own pace. You owe it to yourself to be stay healthy and happy. You only have one body and mind, make peace with it and it will carry you forward!!
